Job Description
This position is part of the Defense Human Resources Activity. The incumbent will be responsible for oversight of current and future civilian benefits and work-life programs procedures, interpretation of policies, and the administration of activities of the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Military Departments and Defense Agencies.
**Qualifications:**
You may qualify at the GS-15, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the grade GS-14 level in the Federal service: - Experience in overseeing federal retirement, benefits, and workers' compensation programs and ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and policies - Interpreting and implementing HR and benefits policies and providing guidance to staff, managers, and senior leadership - Planning, coordinating, and evaluating HR benefits program operations and identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness - Communicating HR benefits program information and delivering training to managers, employees, and stakeholders. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
