About the Position: This position is located at the U. S. Engineer School First Engineer Brigade, 554th EN BN on Fort Leonard Wood, MO. Fort Leonard Wood is located in the beautiful South-Central Missouri Ozarks. The Fort covers more than 61,000 acres and is located in Pulaski County, bordering Waynesville/St. Robert and Interstate 44. St. Louis is a 2-hour drive east and Springfield is a 1-hour drive west of Fort Leonard Wood.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Engineering Equipment Operator without more than normal supervision. To meet the screen out element applicants should document experience in the following: Knowledge of Operating heavy equipment to push, pull, pile, or load materials such as sand, gravel, earth, and clearing brush, rocks, tree stumps, and other material. Knowledge and ability to perform Operating heavy equipment on flat or rolling terrain and construction sites with simple terrain problem, performing the most difficult and complex Engineering Equipment Operator tasks including operating engineering and construction equipment to perform functions such as cutting, moving, digging, grading, and rolling earth, sand, stone, and other materials; and construct, maintain, and repair roads; and load, offload trucks with a high degree of independence. Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. * Domestic Defense Industrial Base/Major Range and Test Facilities Base Civilian Personnel Workforce. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Ability to Do the Work of the Position without More Than Normal Supervision Ability to Drive Safely (Motor Vehicles) Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (Related to Mobile Equipment Operation) Ability to Operate Safely (Non-motor Vehicles) Operation of Motor Vehicles Reliability and Dependability Work Practices (Including Keeping Things Neat, Clean, and in Order) PHYSICAL EFFORT Heavy physical effort is required in reaching, bending, turning and moving hands, arms, feet, and legs to handle controls to operate equipment and attachments. Equipment operator requires normal visual acuity, field of vision, depth perception, reaction time, and hearing. WORKING CONDITIONS Works outside, exposed to heat, cold, noise, vibration, dust, and fumes from motors and exhausts. Subject to traffic hazards, to cuts; bruises, and strains which might result in loss of time beyond five days, and to serious injury or death from overturning equipment while constructing access roads in forest areas which are characterized by rolling hills, swamps, etc.
