The primary purpose of this position Is To keep stocks of tools and parts used by shop employees in their work and to issue items to the shop employees when they need them, keeping track of whereabouts of items and monitoring returns Verifies excess, short, or damaged items received in shipments.

**Qualifications:**
In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C. QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-6900 Warehousing and Stock Handling Group. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. The screen out element for this position is ability to do the work of a WG-6904 TOOLS AND PARTS ATTENDANT (MVO) without more than normal supervision. JOB ELEMENTS: Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of a wide variety of tools and parts related to munitions support Knowledge of safety as it relates to the use of tools/equipment and storing various items 2. Knowledge of hazardous material and hazardous waste management/policies/procedures 3. Ability to receive, store, issue, and inventory parts, tools, and/or equipment and maintain records using automated and/or mechanized systems without more than normal supervision Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, etc. from shop personnel and tools and parts catalogs 4. Technical ability to inspect tools, parts, and equipment for visible damage and make determinations as to feasibility of repair, or, if damaged beyond repair, suggest substitution of parts/tools, and determine causes of overages/shortages 5. Ability to follow oral and written instructions 6. Ability to operate a computer to include use of word processing, spreadsheets, and the Air Force Tool Accountability System software. PHYSICAL EFFORT Work is primarily sedentary There may be some walking, standing, bending, and carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts The employee frequently lifts and cranes items weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally moves heavier objects with assistance or mechanical devices Work is usually performed inside with exposure to drafts, noise, fumes, dirt, dust, and grease The employee is subject to chemical imitations, bruises, cuts and strains They may be exposed to chemical vapors, skin untints, and caustic and poisonous items in the collection, treatment, and/or containment of hazardous wastes Must follow specific safety procedures and use the appropriate safety equipment including respirators, face shields, safety glasses, protective clothing, and safety shoes. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
